This Sites Purpose

This site is to serve as a place for the Citizens of Tracy California to find out what the Fraternal order of Eagles is and what they can do for the community. It will also explain what goes into the organization of an Aerie and Auxiliary, what the requirements for membership are and the benefits are of having a local Aerie.

What Is The Fraternal Order of Eagles?

The Fraternal Order of Eagles Mission Statement says it better than any one person can. The mission statement states: The Fraternal Order of Eagles, an international non-profit organization, unites fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice and equality to make human life more desirable by lessening its ills and by promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope.”

The four cornerstones of the organization, Liberty, Truth, Justice and Equality are more than words or ideas they are the principals of this group. The Auxiliary has three principals itself in it’s logo: “For Home, for Country and for God!”

”’Fraternal Order of Eagles International”’ (”’F.O.E.”’) is a fraternal organization that was founded on February 6, 1898, in Seattle, Washington by a group of six theater owners including John Cort (the first president), brothers John Considine and Tim J. Considine, Harry (H.L.) Leavitt (who later joined the Loyal Order of Moose), Mose Goldsmith and Arthur Williams. Murray Morgan, Skid Road, Ballantine Books (1960). p. 144–146 cites for Cort, John Considine, Leavitt, and Leavitt’s departure. Originally made up of those engaged in one way or another in the performing arts, the Eagles grew and claimed credit for establishing the Mother’s Day holiday in the United States as well as the “impetus for Social Security”. Their lodges are known as “aeries”.
